Palace Hotel Omiya

I had a great service experience, thanks especially to Harada san at the reception desk. He was understanding and flexible, and I really appreciated his help.

Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of dishes made using local ingredients. The hotel is close to Omiya station, with lots of places to eat and shop nearby. The room was thoughtfully laid out and had lots of amenities, though perhaps a few could be cut back for the environment. Bright signs outside didn’t bother me because the curtains blocked the light well. I’d consider staying again.

The location is fantastic, with Conbinis across the street and in the same building, plus Donki, a Gigo, the train station, Truffle mini, and plenty more nearby. You could spend all day wandering among the shops and restaurants. The hotel was clean and the service was nice, though I had limited interaction with staff. It looks great on the surface, but as a frequent traveler I could see the wear, like scuffs on the baseboards and hallway walls. It’s not a bad place to stay, but a little pricey compared with similar Japanese hotels.

It’s right by the station, with access over a pedestrian bridge. There are restaurants inside the hotel, and a family mart right in front on 2F. The staff were friendly and did their best, even though they weren’t used to English-speaking tourists, since Omiya is more of a business area. I really liked my stay.
