Best Western Plus Fukuoka Tenjin-minami

I had to leave something behind after checkout, and the staff kindly contacted me by email and managed the complicated international shipping arrangements successfully. Their service was excellent. The hotel is also well placed for walking around, with a bus stop and convenience store nearby. The room was small but had what I needed. There was dust on the carpet and bed, though, so cleanliness could be better.

A good value hotel with a good breakfast. The room size and water pressure were both good, and the staff could speak English. There's a main road nearby and lots of shops and restaurants around. The location is fine, though the bus stop and Metro station take a bit of walking to reach. I'd stay again on my next trip to Fukuoka.

We had a good stay. The room was clean, and the layout was pretty good. The bathtub was clean and deep, and the shower had enough pressure. There are lots of places to eat nearby, with combini shops just around the corner. I didn't feel completely at ease in the room.

I'm writing this while still staying here because it's been such a bad experience. I've visited different parts of Japan several times for work and leisure, and this is by far the worst accommodation I've had here. The front desk service is poor, and the local staff have been quite rude. The room fridge is warm and doesn't work. When I asked about it, the front desk said they could swap it, but couldn't promise the replacement would work. They said this is a common guest complaint, yet management apparently hasn't acted. Housekeeping also left our used glasses as they were, without replacing or cleaning them. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the subway, which isn't a great location. I don't understand its 4.1 Google rating. I know it's a three-star hotel and expect basic facilities, but this has been terrible. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
