Finding the place was tricky because the nameplate was hard to notice. Inside, though, it opened up into a lovely, extraordinary space. I really liked the scent of the cypress bath and how comfortable the original loungewear was. I was very satisfied.

The kitchen had such a refined feel that I wanted to spend time there, and the cypress bath smelled wonderful. Even the lighting and furniture showed care, and I loved taking in all the little details of the space. It’s within walking distance of downtown and the port, and having bicycles available made getting around easy. This was my first visit to Ishigaki Island, and I stayed at Dorogo. I enjoyed the luxurious space so much that I’d love to return.

We came with a few friends, planning to sightsee, but the place was so comfortable we ended up staying in the whole time lol. The outside has a real Ishigaki Island feel, while inside it’s stylish and beautiful. It seems great for families too. I’d love to come back.

From the outside, it’s a typical concrete Okinawan house. Step through the door and the space feels almost otherworldly, finished beautifully without any sense of compromise or cost cutting. Just being there lifted my spirits. It felt like a different way to travel.
