Bunshodo Hotel

I stayed for two nights. The decor has a loft look and the place was clean. The shower is only on the ground floor, with three rooms for men, and there’s a coin laundry inside. The staff were really nice and friendly, and the coffee was perfect 😘

The stylish look and good location had a lot of promise, and I don’t mind a shared bathroom if it means more room to sleep. But after two nights, I was disappointed by how dirty the place was. Dust covered the fan beside my bed, and the bed was so dirty I had to wipe it down with a towel myself. The shower room was the worst, extremely dirty. There are only 3-4 shower rooms to maintain, so I don’t understand why they couldn’t keep them cleaner. From outside it looks great, almost like an art gallery, but I regretted staying. With better cleaning, it could be a perfect place.

The beds were comfortable and the location was central, so I had a great stay. We also got two complimentary drinks at check-in. The only downside was weak WiFi on the 4th floor, but the staff helped us change rooms.

The location worked really well for me, between Hakata Station and Canal City, both about a 7-9 minute walk away. We had a quad room, with the toilet and sink inside and the shower on the first floor, just a 10-second walk away, so that wasn't a problem. The welcome drink was nice, and breakfast was simple but tasty, just a drink and a pie with some vegetables and egg, which was enough for me. I think this hotel suits groups of 3-4. One small drawback: if you're a light sleeper, the passageway's drafty noise may bother you when you're in bed. I'd consider it first next time I'm in the area with a group. Thanks.
