The room was so dirty that I wouldn't stay unless I needed somewhere to crash. It smelled musty, and the air smelled putrid when the air conditioning was running. The units were coated in black dirt and may have had mold. The windows were grimy, the upholstery was stained, and there was hair on the bed sheets. One bed didn't have sheets at all. In one bedroom the air conditioner had no remote, and the room was hot and humid.
We really wish we'd booked this place instead of the accommodation we're in now. Great location!
The floor in the living room creaks loudly, and the narrow neighborhood streets make driving a rental car difficult. The owner was friendly and quick to respond. There are three bedrooms upstairs, plus a large bedroom on the first floor, along with two bathrooms and two shower rooms. The mattresses on the lower bunk beds in that large downstairs bedroom are worn out and caused back pain. One of the two shower rooms also has very weak water pressure.
The house is laid out with two four-person rooms, two double rooms, two bathrooms, and two toilets, though the living room feels cramped and the beds are quite old. There’s parking right outside, with room for an eight-seat car. Shops and places to eat are all close by, usually within a 10-minute walk. Hakata Station takes about 20-30 minutes on foot, but there are plenty of shops along the way. The landlord was quick to reply and arrived on time so we could leave our luggage. If you’re visiting Hakata as a group, renting the whole house is worth considering.
We were six people, including my grandfather, and having lots of beds worked out well. Getting here from Hakata Station on foot was easy too.
