Four Points Flex by Sheraton Fukuoka Hakata

The place was cozy, nice and surprisingly spacious compared with the other hotels I stayed in on this trip. It's about a 10 minute walk from Hakata station, with a convenience store a block away. You need to pay the 200 yen/person/night tax separately from the room price when you check in. Cleaning could be better, especially in the bathroom, where there were visible stains. Apart from that, I had trouble sleeping because of a strange sound. It happened around five times between 3 am and 4 am, each time for 5-10 seconds. It sounded like a telephone call waiting tone, only higher-pitched. I tried to find where it was coming from but couldn't, and I didn't manage to record it. I'm a light sleeper, and after it happened two or three times, I couldn't get back to sleep. I think my room number was 303.

Breakfast was nice, with local dishes like cod roe alongside the standard options. The lobby has coin laundry, a microwave, an ice server, free water and a free coffee machine. The small room was clean, functional and quiet. It's walkable from Hakata station, next to Sumiyoshi shrine for a morning stroll, with plenty of convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, including Sunny and Max valu. I stayed three nights and was satisfied.

The room is quite small, but the temperature control and noise insulation are adequate, and the shower has great water pressure. It's a short walk from hakata station, and the 11 am checkout is very convenient.

Good value for money, and very clean, though the room is a bit small. It's about an 8-10mins walk to the busy area with shopping and lots of food. If you're driving, there's a carpark right next to the entrance, which is really convenient.
