Reisenkaku Hotel Kawabata

It's a solid business hotel and I'd stay again. Reception spoke enough English to get things done, which I appreciated. The room was on the small side, but the air conditioning was strong. Many amenities are picked up from the lobby. They even cleaned my room during my two-night stay, while APA and toyoko business chains only clean once every 4 nights. The key chain is massive, so I left it at the front desk when I went out for a while, and that worked fine. It was the lowest-priced business hotel I saw in Nakasu, better value than a capsule hotel, and right in the middle of Nakasu with an easy walk to the yatai and nightlife.

The rooms were clean, and we got fresh towels and a bottle of water each day. Outside noise was barely noticeable, and bus and metro stations were easy to reach. The hotel is near Hakata station, around a nice 15-minute walk away, and a large shopping center with different restaurants is less than five minutes away. The manager made the room change from a double to two singles right away when she noticed our booking would be too small. We had arrived early and gone for a walk, and she put our luggage in the rooms while we were out. She spoke English very well, too. Superb service. If I come back to Fukuoka, I know where I'll stay.

A straightforward Japanese business hotel. The bath was small, but fine for the price and location. My pillow had beans at one end and a thin, soft side at the other, with both in the middle. Clever and comfy. The polite, friendly staff helped me practice my Japanese without making me feel foolish.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and there's a shopping area nearby with the subway about 5 minutes away. The rooms are small, and the hotel amenities are very basic.
