The room itself was okay, with a fully functional kitchen, but there was no kettle, microwave oven, or wok in it. I called the front desk and was told I could take a kettle from the self-serve area, but that one was out of order. My only options, they said, were to wait until the next morning in case someone fixed it, with no guarantee, or hope another guest returned a working kettle. What a bloody 3 star hotel. The front desk was in another building 30 minutes away, which makes no sense. I only found out there was no desk when I reached the building entrance. Staff said the check-in instructions were in the email’s special instructions, a section you’d never notice, and the email only arrives after booking. Mine was non-refundable, so even if I’d spotted the instructions, I still had to go 30 minutes away just to check in.

The room was nice, but the hallways smelled. We had a really hard time figuring out where to get the keys. When we asked, they sent Japanese instructions instead of English ones, and the phone helpline was awful, putting us on hold whenever we called.

Check-in was too late and check-out too early. The instructions weren’t clear enough, and the check-in spot was too far from the hotel building, which made no sense. They also charged 500yen per bag for storage in the lobby, an extra fee I hadn’t come across at other hotels.

The room was actually pretty big and had good accommodations, though the hotel was really hard to find.

Comfortable and clean, just a bit far from the station.
