Business Hotel Daizen

A lovely, simple place, and the staff were very polite. Please don't let the negative reviews put you off.

I had a real mix of good and bad during my stay in the Japanese-style room in the annex, a short walk from the main building. The building is old, and depending on how many guests there are, the rates felt a little high. Parking in front of the main building was 500 yen a night. The room's refrigerator was switched on, but there was water in it and a strong fishy smell, which made me wonder what the previous guest had left there. The toilet was small and had no washlet, and the bathtub was too cramped for me to squat and wash properly. I heard there's a renovated shower room on the first floor, which might have been easier to use. The towels felt like they'd been washed at home. The TV remote was covered in fingerprints, so I scrubbed it with a hot towel from a convenience store. On the better side, the duvet was very light, perhaps feather-filled, and the mattress was firm enough for me to sleep well. Wi-Fi worked without any security warnings, so I felt safe using it. With prices rising in June 2025, the cost was almost the same as the other hotel I stayed at the following day, though I came away with a completely different impression. A slightly lower rate would make it feel like better value.

I stayed here on a business trip. I've used all kinds of places over the years, but this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. There were so many problems I won't get into the details. Unless something really exceptional makes it necessary, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere. I won't be back.

At least I could sleep comfortably 😊. For the rest, you get what you pay for, so don't expect much. But I could sleep, and that's something 😊😊.
