Fukuyama Royal Hotel

I found the room clean and got a good rest after traveling. The staff were very polite, which made it easy to feel at ease. The hotel has a calm atmosphere that's nice for unwinding. It's easy to reach Fukuyama Castle and the restaurants around the station, and the hotel is convenient to use as a base for sightseeing or a business trip in Fukuyama. Fukuyama Station is also easy to get to.

The distance from the station is a downside. I had an appointment at Linden Hall, then walked about 10 minutes to the hotel. There was a Lawson on the way, so I picked up food there before checking in. I booked at an affordable price through Agoda. There was a bottle of mineral water in the room fridge, which I appreciated. My room was 416, but unfortunately the BS channels on the TV didn't come through. I hope they can fix that. I ate the convenience store food tonight and will try the nearby Chinese restaurant next time. I'd still like to stay here again. Thank you!

For a solo traveler, this is worth considering if you want a very cheap stay. A room without meals is around 5,000 yen, and the rooms were impeccably clean with everything you need. The hotel has clearly cut costs, with a hot-water washlet and a shower unit instead of a shared bathtub. It may not suit couples, and there aren't any fancy restaurants nearby, just a run-down Chinese place. Best to eat before checking in. I'd booked for a motorcycle trip, but switched at the last minute to take the train. I hadn't accounted for the distance from the station and only realized how far it was once I started walking. It's over a 30-minute walk.

Parking is first come, first served, and business travelers use this hotel a lot. It may be better to walk after checking in. We stayed as a family, but there was no consideration for families using the on-site parking lot. That's why we gave the service and location one star.
