Miyajima Hotel Makoto

The kaiseki dinner was delicious, and there was a complimentary shuttle to and from the ferry terminal. It's in a good spot, away from the busy Omotesando street but still easy to reach. The rooms are spacious, though our window looked straight at a wall covered in green algae, so the view wasn't great.

We spent three nights here and had a wonderful time. The warm, friendly staff really made the stay. Our room was comfortable, a good size, and perfectly clean. It's just a few minutes on foot from the ferry port, so we didn't need a taxi for our luggage. Highly recommend.

We only stayed one night and wished we'd had longer to enjoy the place. The traditional Japanese room was spacious and comfortable, and we slept very well. The hotel itself is beautiful, with traditional design, and the spa was lovely and welcoming. The staff were extremely kind and caring, offering good advice and attentive service. One of the best stays on our trip to Japan. Everything was excellent, and I'd choose this accommodation again without hesitation.

The room was dark, with only a green algae covered wall in view. We wanted a classic Japanese style room, but the floor mats smelled terrible. They had put in an air cleaner, but the smell was still awful, especially when sleeping on the floor. The floor bed felt soft at first, then became very hard after a couple of hours, and your body can ache if you're not used to it. The hotel is old, and it shows. I wouldn't recommend it to tourists.
