APA Hotel Nishifunabashi Ekimae

The staff were patient and helpful, even with my limited Japanese, and some of them could speak English. The hotel is quiet and handy for the train station and local restaurants. I stayed for ten nights in a fourth-floor room, my first time at an APA hotel, and it suited me well. As a solo traveller I had enough space to lay out my suitcase or tuck it under the bed. The bed worked perfectly for me, and the bathroom was great. I’d gladly stay again.

The staff were friendly, and there are plenty of food options around the hotel. I stayed here for Tokyo Disneyland and Sea. The rooms are fine, about what you’d expect from a business hotel. My main issue was the centrally controlled air conditioning. You have no way to set the room temperature, and as someone who sleeps hot, I had a hard time sleeping. The washroom was cooler than the room. Leaving the door open to let cooler air in and taking a cool shower helped a bit.

The station is close by, with lots of cheap food around, and the price doesn’t eat up all your savings. The showers are good, and there are plenty of services you can use on the TV. Rooms are small but efficient, with what you need, so pack light. Breakfast is simple, with good options at a low price, and the staff are genuinely lovely. It even gives you a bit of a luxury hotel feeling. I’d recommend it.

(But in July, we stepped into our room and it was as warm as the air outside, which felt like body temperature. The TV said something like the A/C was centrally managed and they couldn’t change the temperature 😱 I tried calling the front desk, but couldn’t work out the phone, so I nervously went down to reception in case there’d been a mistake. Thankfully, they’d just forgotten to turn it on 😅 The temperature was adjustable at the bedside after all. Phew…) 7/2024. This was my second stay because I liked the place last autumn. It’s really convenient and the room was clean 😊 The first floor smells really nice.
