Sun Hotel Funabashi

I've stayed here several times, and even though I usually arrive after 9 PM, the front desk staff are always polite and helpful. It makes me feel at ease as soon as I get there. The hotel is a little dated, but the lobby, rooms, and dining area are all very clean and pleasant to use. The rooms are larger than at other hotels in the same price range, so I can open my suitcase. The station is close, with a convenience store and supermarket right next door. On my first visit I was a bit lost, but the staff kindly explained everything. As of October 2025, breakfast costs 700 yen and includes rice with raw egg, pork miso soup, and pickles. I recommend it if you're staying near Funabashi.

The bed is large, the complimentary drinks were great, and the location is ideal, with Lawson and Funabashi Station nearby. I could hear some noise from the hallway. The woman at the front desk was friendly. Breakfast at 500 yen is reasonable, though if the price rises to 700 yen in October, the quality might make it feel expensive.

The room is old, but it has a bidet, so it was perfectly fine. The staff at the front desk and in the dining room were especially kind and polite. They seemed to show more of the traditional Japanese spirit than many Japanese people do these days. I had booked a room-only stay, but I love rice with raw egg and happened to notice the breakfast menu, so I asked for it at check-in. For 500 yen, the all-you-can-eat eggs and rice with pork miso soup is still a great deal, even with the price going up to 700 yen from October. There were several kinds of soy sauce, and the side dishes and natto (fermented soybeans) were very satisfying, too. Unlimited coffee and tea at the second-floor drink bar until evening was a nice bonus.

The front desk staff were so warm and friendly when I stayed here after visiting Disney. I've seen reviews saying the breakfast is tasty, so I'd definitely like to try it if I get the chance. ✨
