The dedicated ski locker by the ski center entrance was a big convenience. We didn’t have to carry our gear back and forth, and there’s a sports shop with extra items at reasonable prices. The Seibu Prince Club Membership was another nice perk: our spending at the Prince Hotel earned points we could use in shops, restaurants, and on future hotel bookings. My boyfriend and I used some for souvenirs and snacks. The room was spacious, and the heater kept us warm and dried our ski clothes. The hotel is isolated at the foot of the mountain, but it has restaurants, shops, attractions, and lovely views of Furano city and the surrounding nature. The onsen had a spacious bathing area and good shower facilities, though it was about a 10-minute walk from our room through the corridor. The cold draft between the LB and G1 walkway was uncomfortable in winter, and more heaters along the way would help. Getting into town was harder because the bus between the hotel and JR station came only about once an hour. For an early trip to return rental gear or have breakfast in town around 8-9am, the only bus was at 09:05. After skiing around 6-7pm, the only bus was at 19:00, which felt rushed when we wanted a quick shower before dinner. We ended up eating at one of the hotel restaurants by chance, after finding it fully booked earlier, and were lucky to get walk-in seats. A hotel shuttle between town and the hotel would be great, and I’d happily pay a few hundred yen for it. It was an excellent place to ski, relax, and have fun with a partner, friends, or family. I highly recommend it and would come back.

The best part of our three-night ski stay at the New Furano Prince Hotel was the ski-in, ski-out access. You can head straight onto the slopes, and the ski locker room is one of the largest and most efficient we’ve seen. The hotel is also within walking distance of Ningle Terrace, a picture-perfect winter wonderland. Staff were polite, professional, and helpful. Even with limited English, they went out of their way to assist, and translation apps made communication easy. We booked about a month ahead, when the hotel was nearly full, so the only larger room available was for smokers. As non-smokers, that wasn’t ideal. The hallway smelled noticeably of smoke when we stepped off the elevator. With the windows open throughout our stay, the room was manageable, but we kept the curtains open too because closing them brought out the smoke smell. Guests sensitive to smoke should take note. Deep cleaning the carpets and curtains regularly might help. Our two-double-bed room was an acceptable size, but dated, and the beds weren’t very comfortable. The rooms and hotel generally were clean. The included breakfast was a large Japanese-style buffet with few Western choices. I appreciated that they made egg whites for me. The dinner buffet was extensive and high quality, but cost around $80 CAD per person. Almond milk was available, though I don’t drink it, and soy or oat milk would be a nice addition for international guests. We were also pleasantly surprised by the in-room amenities basket, which had the usual items plus face wash, moisturizer, face masks, headbands, and more, a lovely touch after skiing. There’s an onsen and spa for after a day on the mountain. Spa treatments book up quickly, so reserve ahead. Overall, it’s a very convenient, well-located ski hotel with standout service and a few things that could be improved.

We had a wonderful time at Shin Prince Hotel Furano, and Min at the reception help desk deserves a special mention. He spoke English clearly and confidently, which helped a lot as international guests, and handled taxi and restaurant reservations professionally. Everything felt easy and well arranged, so we could enjoy time together without worrying. Min was attentive, polite, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. His professionalism and dedication made a strong impression on our group. We wish him all the best in his career, and are sure his attitude and skills will take him far. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

The staff made a real difference: the lobby and snow rental teams were kind and helpful, and the housekeeping crew and restaurant waiters were consistently welcoming. There are Japanese and Western set menus plus a buffet. Prices are on the high side and the buffet was decent, while the Western restaurant really impressed us. Everything we ordered there was delicious. The building dates from the 1980s, and the architecture and room design show it, but the property is well cared for. We especially liked having a separate hallway off the bedroom to keep snowboards, jackets, and boots out of the living area. The bathroom was also separate from the bedroom, which was comfortable and convenient. We used the onsen too. I can’t speak for the men’s side, but the women’s area was quite crowded, though still relaxing and enjoyable. For snowboarding, the location is hard to beat, with the lift right at the hotel. There’s a bus into town or to the airport, which is useful, but it can be late or canceled at the last minute without warning. We enjoyed the hotel for what it is and would happily stay again, especially for a ski-focused trip.

The mountain views were beautiful, and the hotel was very comfortable for our family. It had everything we needed for an easy ski trip, including well-sized lockers, convenient transport to town, and courtesy buses from nearby ski rental places. The restaurant choices were great, and breakfast and dinner both made me feel like I was in heaven. The staff were impeccably dressed, approachable, kind, considerate, and respectful. Everyone did an amazing job, and we were extremely impressed and comfortable. We’ll be back. A special thank you to Kana T at the Onsen Spa reception for her lovely smile and professional service. Toto gave me an excellent Body Care massage after my hot bath in the onsen, it was divine. Our rooms were cleaned beautifully by the following staff, though I may have missed someone: nishimura Beauty Chie, Shinobu Sasaki, and Martin. Thank you for making us happy and comfortable. We appreciate your work and attention to detail.
