They said I could check in at 20:00, but when I got there the doors were locked, the lights were out, and nobody answered the phone. I had to find somewhere else to stay and it cost me a lot of money.

The crab dinner and breakfast are worth recommending, and the onsen itself is great. If you don't speak Japanese, getting around may be difficult. The decor is a bit kitschy, so if that's not your thing, it could use some improvement.

After hiking, I stopped by for a day-use hot spring. Parking costs 800 yen, but one adult can use the hot spring for free. The 800 yen feels a little steep, honestly, but soaking after a hike was nice. The water was quite hot, and the bath could fit three people. They provide conditioner-in-shampoo, treatment, and body soap, though they felt like the kind of products you'd find at your great-grandmother's house, so I'd bring my own. Towel rental was available too. It wasn't dirty, but the inn is old, so expect that. I thought the place was really nice and would definitely like to visit again.
