Being able to reach the sea in under five minutes on foot was a real plus, and the view from the windows was lovely too. It’s about an hour from Tokyo, with good security around the grounds and useful amenities. Though it’s a traditional Japanese house, the place feels open, almost like being abroad. We enjoyed taking our time with each little feature. It seems well suited to parties, work training, company trips, or a family stay.

There’s plenty to do around the area, with a supermarket, places to eat, a beach, and a pool nearby. At the villa, groups can spread out, watch the kids’ choice of videos on the 100-inch projector, or put on jazz or whatever music they like during a meal. It’s a cozy place with a jacuzzi, a storehouse bar, a sauna, and pretty much everything you could want on its 1,650 square meters. Great for a fun trip, a training camp, or a spiritual retreat. I could stay here forever.

I’d happily come back. The old house has a calm feel, and there’s plenty of room, so I felt comfortable. It was clean and had everything I needed, which made the stay really enjoyable.
