The staff were so warm with my family that the stay felt a bit like being at grandma's house. We had an ocean-view room for one night, and dinner was delicious. The building has plenty of history and a vintage feel. If you want a modern hotel, this probably isn't the one, but I had fun with its older atmosphere. ☺️☀️👘

They filed for bankruptcy and are no longer operating, even though their website is still up. I'd booked a stay for the end of the year a year in advance, but they closed without contacting me, which left me in a difficult spot. The business closed on September 22nd.

The detailed workmanship in the guest room interiors deserves to be enjoyed, and the abandoned inns nearby are part of the experience too, including their little gardens that clearly don't get weeded. This place is a real Showa-era treasure if you want to feel the charm of that time. The people working here seem like living national treasures from the Showa era themselves. By today's Reiwa standards, there may be plenty to criticize, but I hope Japan doesn't lose its ability to appreciate places like this.
