The room upgrade was a lovely surprise after what seemed to be a busy holiday period, when the hotel was nearly empty. It was gorgeous, with a beautiful view over Gamagori city and the ocean. The friendly staff and good facilities would have made me recommend the place even without the upgrade. I was initially uneasy about the baths switching between men's and women's times because my Japanese isn't very strong, but the baths were labeled in English when I arrived, so that was fine. There's a free hotel shuttle too, so check the schedule. I'd happily come back.

The recent renovation and room upgrade made an already good-value stay even better. I had a great time and would definitely return. To make it six stars, I'd want better dinner, a booking system for the fourth-floor bath, and a sauna that's working again. 💪

The night scenery and surroundings were lovely, and the room itself was nice, with an open-air bath. The bath water wasn't hot enough and couldn't be adjusted, though. Service felt poor and unfriendly to tourists, and most of the staff couldn't speak English. The meal also fell short for me: the food quality was poor and it was too salty.

Having complete privacy while bathing naked outdoors was an amazing feeling. My room's open-air bath looked out over the ocean and the city from the mountain, and the views were great. For me, the hotel felt dreamlike, with a strong theme, good food, and good service.
