Good value.

My Japanese-style room was comfortable and relaxing, and the staff were very helpful. The inn is quiet and a little away from the hot spring town. Rooms are spacious, clean, and soundproofed, with a new air conditioner, refrigerator and freezer, and electric kettle. Microwaves are available on every floor. The bathroom was cold, and the hallway was extremely cold in winter. The bath takes a long time to fill, but there’s a sign telling you to start early. This may depend on the room, but we could run the bathtub and shower at once without the water pressure dropping; using the shower faucet to fill the tub is faster. Towels are thin and poor quality, and there’s nowhere to hang them to dry. Yukata are by the entrance, and amenities include disposable shampoo in the room. There’s an automatic payment machine. Nothing was especially bad, and whoever stays here should be satisfied. It was originally a love hotel, which may account for the soundproofing.

The hot spring water did leave my skin feeling smooth, but that was the only good part for me. I had high hopes because of the reviews and was disappointed by almost everything else. The room itself was clean, yet so much of it still looked like it had once been a love hotel. I wondered if more could have been done during the renovation. The bathroom and washroom felt stuck in the Showa era, with dirty tiles and moldy ceilings. The shower area was spacious, but cold. The towels seemed extremely old, and if they’re going to be that thin, I wish there were two sets, one for night and one for morning. There was nowhere to hang towels, only two hangers in the clothing area, and no Febreze. Room amenities were sparse: disposable shampoo, conditioner, and body soap, plus a toothbrush and cup, but no lotion, milky lotion, cleanser, facial cleanser, hair clip, cotton swabs, or comb. There was a hair dryer but no swirl dryer. The hand soap made me wonder how long it had been in use. Even refillable bottles should be replaced a few times a year because bacteria can grow. No complimentary mineral water, snacks, or tea were provided in the room. There was an electric kettle, paper cups, and coffee, black tea, and green tea by the front desk, but going there to get them was a hassle, especially if your room wasn’t on the first floor. It feels like they’re cutting a lot to raise sales. Love hotels are cheap and offer plenty of amenities and services, so maybe I expected too much because of its former use. I won’t return and can’t recommend it.
