Sasara Gero Hot Springs

The hot spring was good and really enjoyable, but the rest of the stay was disappointing. Staff seemed to rush us through meals so they could move on to something else. For the price, both dinner and breakfast fell short. Portions were small, dishes were cold, and the food selection felt cheap, nowhere near what you'd expect from a high-end hotel. The stay wasn't worth the cost, and I wouldn't recommend it to friends.

Our Annex Room was spacious, with a rock-style onsen and a wooden tub, but the layout was poor. To get from the living room to the bedroom, you had to walk through a corridor where people outside could see you. We stayed one night, and the value for money was low. The entire hotel, including the dining room for breakfast and dinner, felt very old and in need of urgent renovation. The dining tables weren't even stable, and the food was poor with little choice compared with other onsen hotels we've stayed at. We've had much better stays in places with private baths for less money, especially when it comes to food.

Beautiful room, lovely onsen, and really good service. The breakfast and dinner were yummy every day, more than I could finish. I'd come back!

The staff were very professional and helped our large group have two great days of travel. Two people in our group were sick, for reasons unrelated to the hotel, and the staff looked after us throughout the stay. They made us feel welcome even after checkout, despite knowing only limited English.
