A good pick if you’re looking to relax. They have an onsen.

I stopped by casually with a wooden onsen day pass. The water and bath felt just the right temperature. The outdoor bath on the 6th floor has a nice view, and I bet it’s lovely at night under the stars. There were a lot of bugs in the bath, though, and there wasn’t a cold bath, which I’m not a fan of.
The onsen costs 1000 yen and was really nice. There’s an indoor bath with tatami and roses in the water, plus a great outdoor bath. Go at night if you can, since it’s on the 6th floor and you can soak while looking at the stars. Gero is a small city, so there isn’t much light pollution at night. They also provide plenty of bath and aftercare products, plus a small towel.
The service was really nice, and the room was clean and comfortable. The bath with tatami was unusual. Dinner was mediocre.
The hot springs have a hot indoor bath and a lukewarm outdoor one. I could check in from 2 PM and got to enjoy several soaks. The water wasn’t as smooth as I’d hoped, but I was still very satisfied. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the station, a nice distance for a leisurely stroll. I was delighted to have such a luxurious breakfast in a spacious room, and I ate until I was stuffed! At night, lights from the convenience store next door and the nearby hotel’s illuminations made the room glow beautifully.
