Comfort Hotel Gifu

The breakfast was really good, especially the creamy scrambled eggs, and there was fruit and fruit juice too. Staff spoke English and gave great service. My room was a little larger than the average business hotel room. The air conditioning is centrally controlled and was set to heating during my stay. It's about a 6-minute walk from the station, with overhead walkways covering most of the route.

My first time staying at a Comfort Inn in Japan. Breakfast was good.

The breakfast was much better than I expected from a place advertising it as free. It was tasty, and the selection changed a little over our two mornings. They also had plastic boxes so we could bring some food back to the room. The staff were kind and always smiling. Our room had a nice view, though services in the room were limited. Watching a movie costs extra, and you need to buy a card from the machine by the elevator. Laundry was the frustrating part: there are only two washers and two dryers, often with no space available, and you're supposed to move clothes from washer to dryer within 30 minutes. If you need to do laundry, you may have to try very late at night or early in the morning.

We spent two nights here while visiting Gifu and Hida Takayama. It's less than a 3-minute walk from Gifu Station, and the hotel was clean and had what we needed. Complimentary breakfast and a drink bar available throughout the day were nice extras. Good value for the price.
