Dormy Inn Express Gotemba Hot Springs

There’s a manga corner where you can take up to 5 books to your room, as long as you return them to the spot you got them from. I’d come back if I get the chance. This was one of the better hotels I’ve stayed at in japan. The room was fairly clean and spacious, and there were lots of freebies, including shoyu ramen for supper, japanese yakult, and popsicles.

We were lucky to find the rooftop foot bath empty around 4pm. You can sip tea or coffee there and get a super great view of Mt Fuji. It tends to be crowded in the morning, when people stop to take photos before heading out. My kids loved the free soba supper. The room was okay in size and had enough space for all 4 of us. I’d like to come back anytime soon!

The extra sliding door between the bedroom, bathroom area, and main door was a thoughtful touch. It gives the room another layer of soundproofing from the shared corridor. Our twin room was compact at 22sqm, but the layout worked well, fitting twin queen-sized beds and even a small sofa. I was grateful the staff honored my request for a top-floor corner room. This is our second stay, after visiting in Spring a few months ago, and now during the sweltering Japanese summer. We keep choosing this hotel for the added perks: free hot-spring baths and outdoor foot baths, probiotic milk drinks, popsicles and wafer ice creams, a fantastic buffet breakfast, and complimentary ramen soup at night. There were even special mango puddings waiting in our mini fridge. It’s one of the best options for staying near Mt. Fuji and the Gotemba Premium Outlet.

The night ramen is a nice extra, and there’s free ice cream after the onsen. The twin room was spacious, and the onsen has an open-air bath and sauna. Everything was clean and well maintained. It’s a bit far from the station, but the bus ride to Gotemba outlet or the Gotemba station is easy. There are a few good local restaurants within a 10-minute walk, plus a ministop for essentials.
