Goto Daiichi Hotel

My room was on the third floor despite my request for a higher one, and there wasn't any view. Inside, there was little beyond the basics, and I couldn't find anything explaining the hotel. No one told me about breakfast, either. When I tried to pay by card, the older receptionist said the machine wasn't working and asked for cash. I've heard that before, so I suspect he may not know how to use the machine. For what it cost, I honestly didn't think it was worth it. It's a bare-bones business hotel.

Breakfast is a good deal at 650 yen, and the location is handy for the bus from Fukue Airport as well as nearby restaurants. The female staff are quick and kind. The hotel is old but looked after, and my room had no cigarette smell. If the man over 90 is at the front desk, you're in for an experience. He's hard of hearing and can sound a little intimidating, but reading the article posted there makes it easier to forgive everything.

The location is handy, right in the city center near the port. I stayed several nights, and the room was cleaned properly, the bed made, and the amenities topped up each day. The bed itself was big and comfortable, everything was clean, and the amenities were all there: towels, tea, a water heater, an old air purifier, a hair dryer, and a washlet. The lobby also has plenty of manga. Laundry is available for 200 yen, with a large dryer at 100 yen for 8 minutes and detergent for 50 yen. A few things were less convenient: the bath temperature is adjusted manually, there was no deodorizer, the walls are thin enough to hear next door, and Dreamtight. The liquor vending machine in the lobby wasn't plugged in, and the free coffee machine was broken. The bigger problem was the card machine, which was broken, so they only took cash. The elderly man at reception is hard of hearing and slow to handle things. When I asked about something, I was told to wait for his daughter to come home that evening. It took 30 minutes to get through reception. Some reviews say it's cheap so there's nothing to complain about, but it didn't seem that cheap to me, about the same as a nice business hotel.
