The meals were a real highlight, and everyone I dealt with was kind and helpful. I especially recommend trying the local fish dinner at least once. There were lots of dishes, and several tasted amazing. Some of the fish was among the freshest and best quality I had during my few months in Japan. Breakfast was good too, and the people serving both meals were accommodating. I stayed in the newer building. The bed was comfortable, with a nice incline by the headboard if you want to sit or lie slightly raised. The bathroom was large and had the modern look common in newer Japanese hotels. There was a medium-sized kitchen and dining area in a separate building, though with dinner offered and some food options in vending machines in at least the newer building, it didn't seem necessary for me. There was a small covered spot for bikes rented elsewhere, and they also had more casual bikes for rent. I couldn't book through the website, possibly because of my email address. I emailed instead because I didn't want the place to pay commission to a third-party booking site, then paid on-site at the end of the trip by credit card. I had to cancel my original reservation at the last minute when weather and high winds canceled my flight. The staff understood, and cancellations for that reason are allowed. Getting confirmation about the airport shuttle by email was a little difficult, so I was concerned. They seemed to be a fairly busy operation, though, and to run shuttles regularly for most flights. After collecting your bag, you can call and they should arrive in about 10 minutes. They leave for the airport around an hour before departing flights, which was just enough time for me to check a bag and get through security on a full flight. I hope this helps anyone with questions before their first visit to the island, especially foreign visitors. It was a great place to spend some time, with a pleasantly uncrowded feel and lots of lush nature. Just sort out local transport, whether that's a car, scooter, or bike, and be ready to adapt to the weather. Thank you to the staff!
