I felt safe leaving my bicycle here, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Don't miss the homemade Japanese breakfast, it was delicious.

The couple who run Naru. are so warm and welcoming. The homemade breakfast is delicious, and even though I usually skip breakfast because I'm busy, I find myself ordering it whenever I stay here. A repeat visit also means getting to chat with their 3-year-old son and see how he's growing. As of the end of March 2019, that was one of the pleasures of coming back. Naru. is more than a cheap place to stay: they carefully preserve the Showa-era inn as a cultural asset. There aren't many places in Japan where you can actually stay somewhere with this kind of atmosphere.

The owner has travelled all over the world and runs this guesthouse with their family. It took over an old ryokan, and the building has been carefully looked after. The living room, with its open airflow, is really comfortable. You get a nice mix of a Japanese inn and a guesthouse, which made for a very satisfying stay. You can add breakfast too, and the Japanese-style meal was tasty.
