Business Hotel Nishine

For the price, I think this hotel is worth it. The reception area is a bit cramped, but there are several izakayas within a 10-minute walk. The rooms are clean. The five-person rooms are laid out for two, with one compartment, two beds, and futons.

The hotel was quiet and close to the station, and I found it relaxing. I was sensitive to the unpleasant smell as soon as I opened the door, so I took the elevator to my room and sprayed the air freshener from just outside the door, haha. The restaurants on the first floor were closed, which would be a problem if you wanted to stay in and eat. I'd tried calling a restaurant I wanted to visit around the time I booked the hotel, but couldn't get through. When I mentioned that at check-in, the hotel contacted them right away and I was able to go. Someone at the restaurant told me the hotel president had called, and I was surprised to learn later that the person I'd met was the president. Next time, I'd definitely like to stay several nights in the annex.

The restaurant downstairs served delicious food, including Hachimantai's Tochu tea pork, a local brand. I also felt bad for the staff because one guest was incredibly demanding. It was quiet during my Friday night stay, probably because there weren't many guests, and the area is generally peaceful anyway. The room had plenty of useful amenities: a power strip with USB ports, disinfectant, a hairdryer, a small mirror instead of a dressing table, and a rack for drying clothes. The step into the unit bathroom was enormous, maybe 20 cm high.

The front desk staff are polite, and the food is delicious. It has a feel that makes you think of how things used to be. I came back in July 2025 and wondered whether you need reservations for the restaurants in the building. They were open after 6 pm, but when I rang the bell, nobody came out. What a shame. I gave up and went out.
