Ayumi was a great host and took care of everything I needed. It’s a good base for trips to appi kogen, with a cozy lounge and very clean rooms. There’s also an awesome pizza place right next door, so we never went hungry. The only downside was getting the same breakfast every day during my five-night stay. They could mix up the options a bit.

Rob and Ayamj were kind owners and great hosts at the White Rose Inn, and I had a very good stay with my friends. Ayami’s food was amazing, whether we had the western breakfast, Japanese Nobu, or pizza. They offer discount coupons for lift tickets and rentals, which is handy if you’re skiing at Appi-Kogen. The Onsen is nearby for after a day on the slopes, and the bar on site is a nice place to unwind. I’ll definitely come back.

We spent a week at the White Rose in and loved every minute. Rob and Iayami went above and beyond as hosts. They arranged rides to and from the train station and lifts to the ski hill each day. There were also tasty, well-priced dinner options every night. The house has a great attached bar with a fire, ski shots, and a bernese mountain dog.

The place feels so warm and homely that I’d come back in a heartbeat. The owners are sweet and helpful, and dinner was really good, they could open a restaurant. Rooms are minimalist but have what you need, and the shower is awesome. The mountain is within walking distance, though they also offer a drop-off and pick-up shuttle. Great value for money compared with places we stayed in other areas.
