The hot spring was the highlight for us, and the whole stay was great. My wife and I enjoyed dinner, too. We don't understand Japanese, and the staff could only speak Japanese, but they tried their best to help us. The atmosphere and service were lovely. Top rating.

We could take our time in the private bath, and breakfast's freshly baked bread was delicious. The food at dinner was gorgeous, especially dessert, all for a price that wasn't too high. It's a long way for us, so we won't be back often, but I'd like to stay here again.

The sulfur spring smelled so good that I wanted to stay in it for ages. The owners were very welcoming, too. It's a simple pension room, but perfectly comfortable for a restful night, and the fresh air helped me sleep. Dinner was just as good as I remembered from my previous visit, with salad, crab, fish, meat and dessert. The steak was especially tasty and filling, and there was plenty of food. It brought back memories. I'd recommend this place.

The bath was spacious and had a lovely family-bath feel, with a strong sulfur smell. It felt great. Dinner was every bit as good as I'd hoped, and for the price, the food and bath are hard to beat. I wanted more time to chat with the pension staff over dinner, but they seemed busy, or perhaps infection control measures affected the atmosphere. That's the one thing I missed. Next time, I hope we can enjoy dinner at a slower pace and talk more. We'd come back with our family.

I've been here many times, and the dinner is worth the price: a hearty French-style meal with steak, fish and crab, plus homemade bread at breakfast. The two baths are lockable for family use and were recently redone in cypress, which gives them a nice feel. I think they're each about six tatami mats in size. The owner's carefully chosen stereo plays relaxing jazz and classical music, and Beckham, the mascot dog, often greeted guests who were okay with dogs. I was especially happy to see the new washlet in the toilets, lol. I heard Beckham has passed away 😭, and that Leon, a second retriever, is there now. There can be noise from doors slamming, creaking stairs and footsteps, or little kids yelling, especially if other guests aren't careful. Cell service with Softbank is weak, and web browsing can be hard. WiFi is available, but it's a bit questionable. The place is cleaned well, though dog hair can sometimes get into the food. Since there's a dog, it may not suit people who are sensitive to that. Matsukawa Onsen is nearby, and this is a favorite I keep returning to. I'm satisfied whenever I visit, in any season.
