Pension Step

The outdoor bath was spacious, and the artificial hot spring felt gentle on my skin. Dinner was Western-style with a nice mix of fish and meat, and every dish was delicious. We could get more rice, then choose hot or iced coffee or apple juice afterward. The alcoholic drinks were limited, which was disappointing. Maybe they could have arranged more if we'd mentioned our preferences beforehand. Breakfast was just bread, so nothing special. We came as a family of five and rented a three-bedroom unit with two rooms and a bathroom. I realized only after arriving that it wasn't really set up for the whole family to relax together, so it may work better for clubs or group activities. The room did have a bathroom and toilet, but towels were the only amenities. There wasn't even a tissue, so I had to get some from the car. It's a place I'd suggest to anyone wanting to get away from modern conveniences. Both meals were served all at once, and plates were cleared quickly, which made it hard to relax. The pension is run by a couple. Nothing was bad, but I didn't find a particular strong point to recommend it.

The rooms had underfloor heating, which made them very comfortable, and the food was delicious. We stayed two nights, with eight people across four rooms, and felt we got excellent service for the price. The lounge had a cozy antique feel, and the owners were incredibly kind. It's a guesthouse with a different level of service from a typical hotel. We'd definitely stay again when skiing in Appi.

The cute decor and friendly owners made this a comfortable place for women to stay. Thanks for looking after us.
