The owners were so patient and kind, even though we mostly had to use a translation device since they speak a little English and I don't speak Japanese. They drove us back and forth to the ski resort and supermarket for groceries, and even offered a lift to the New Year's Eve fireworks. That was incredibly touching. It's a really cute guesthouse run by a husband and wife, and they're both so friendly that just seeing their smiles puts you in a good mood. The whole house is spotless and well organized, and there's a bathhouse that's practically immaculate. It's only a two-minute drive to the ski resort, with a drying room for skis and boots, and the layout is great for skiers. We loved it and will definitely stay again! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

The owner was very kind throughout our four nights and took care of everything we needed. The guesthouse is a five-minute drive from Appi Ski Resort, and if you don't have a car, the owner will drive you there, which is very convenient. Highly recommend staying here. Just remember, check-in is cash only, with no credit cards accepted.

The couple were lovely and came outside to see us off at checkout, even though they were still eating. Our room was roomy for three, and having the bath to ourselves was nice. The inn has a typical pension feel and is conveniently close to Appi Kogen. The food was good, although the meat arrived cold and the portions were small, so big eaters may not find it enough. The man next to me had two extra servings of rice. There aren't vending machines, but drinks are for sale in the dining room fridge.

We had a wonderful four-night stay. Thanks to the owner and his wife for their kindness, especially when my friend hurt his leg skiing and the owner drove him to a nearby hospital.

The owner showed me a spot for trout fishing, and the couple's friendly personalities may be why they have so many repeat guests. The food was delicious, with trout meunière, roast beef, fillet steak and more making up a lovely two-day stay. Appi Kogen is at the same elevation as Tokyo Skytree!
