City Park Hotel Hachinohe

I picked this place while looking for somewhere cheap. Parking is free, but it's first come, first served. The building is old, the TV is small, and although there is air conditioning, it seems like you can't adjust it. There is a coin laundry. The bed wasn't too soft, which suited me, though the curtains don't block the morning light. Maybe that's healthier since you won't oversleep (lol). I asked the man at the front desk where to eat in the evening, and he pointed me to a really delicious place. I was grateful. There was a Hachinohe festival float nearby and a place to watch the practice, so I got to feel the festival atmosphere.

The facilities are old, but the weather was neither hot nor cold during my stay, so that didn't cause any inconvenience. There was an extension cord in the room, which meant I had no trouble finding an outlet, and it had just what I needed for a comfortable stay. Even over Golden Week, the price was reasonable, and I could use the free parking lot right next to the hotel. The front desk staff were consistently polite and helpful, which made the stay enjoyable. The microwave is on the first floor in front of the front desk.

I was there for the Hachido Sansha Grand Festival, and the price was very reasonable for peak season. Breakfast was served as an individual set meal. The hotel is historic and old, with a standard single bed that was comfortable for me as a petite person. It's not far from the central street food stalls, yet it felt like a quiet retreat from the busy city.

It's cheap and close to where I needed to go. I'd recommend it if all you want is a place to sleep.
