The free drinks area sounded nice, but it got crowded and loud, and staff required every person to have their own key card. That seemed silly when two people could be staying in one room with just one card. Getting to the hotel was also a struggle: the route from the station involved hauling luggage over stairs, something Maps didn't show. I arrived in pouring rain, which made it especially difficult. At check-in, I went to the staffed counter after a long trip, but was sent to the automated machine instead. The standard room was good value, but its bathroom was quite small, especially the sink. I'd choose somewhere else next time, even if it costs more. I'd suggest the moderate room, which has a separate toilet and shower.

The reception staff were lovely, and the lounge was a nice extra, even though we skipped it the first night. There were only limited snacks and alcohol, and that wasn't why we'd picked a hotel by a motorway flyover anyway. Our rooms were just a few metres from the motorway, with a noisy construction site in view. Inside, things felt a bit scruffy: stained carpets, cheap mattresses, and hard, uncomfortable pillows. The WiFi was awful. It wasn't bad value, so three stars.

We visited in late February. The public bath was one of the best I've used, with lots of shampoo and conditioner choices. The changing area had skincare, cotton buds and pads, brushes, sanitizer wipes, plenty of dryers and sinks, and a water dispenser. We also really enjoyed the tea-time snacks and drinks in the restaurant, plus the evening drink and snack bar. The honey tea and chocolate snacks were especially good. In-room, there was tea and coffee, a water heater, odor spray, shoehorn, and comfy pajamas. The lobby had things like cleansing oil, toner, razors, and hair ties to take. The room was a good size for Osaka; fitting two big suitcases took some rearranging but was manageable. There are plenty of food options around, and I loved the nearby white miso ramen. The hotel is between several train stations, so getting around is easy, though each is usually a 10-15 minute walk away. One thing to consider: Maps took us through a somewhat sketchy-by-Japan-standards area behind the hotel, with bars and love hotels. Locals left us alone, even as a female Asian traveler, but you can avoid those side streets by taking the main road around to the front. The location is the main drawback, though for the price the walk seems reasonable, and you're still near central Osaka.

The evening cocktails and snacks were a welcome treat, and the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. A few spoke English very well. We had a twin room, which gave us a more comfortable night's sleep than the small double beds often found in Japanese hotels. Breakfast leaned traditional Japanese, though there was enough Western food to get by. We stayed four nights in March 2026. The walk to the nearest train station was the one downside. Otherwise, the hotel suited us well, and we'd come back if we return to Osaka.

I had to go back to my room at checkout to get a second key because the receptionist insisted she needed it. That added to how uncomfortable I felt here, more than at any of the over 30 hotels I've stayed in Japan. The place was packed with tourists, the hot springs were tiny and always crowded, and there was a huge layer of dust under the bed. Noise from the road right outside the windows made it impossible to sleep. I don't usually write reviews, but this hotel really irritated me.
