Pension Jokura

Their two little dogs were adorable, and Grandpa and Grandma were so kind and easy to talk to. The house had a real Hayao Miyazaki manga feel as soon as we walked in. Grandpa took some lovely photos of us and gave us chopsticks to keep. Thanks again to both of them for such a sweet stay.

The house has a peaceful, distinctive atmosphere, and the hosts made us feel very welcome. It’s easy to reach the main attractions from here. Thanks for the souvenir chopsticks, too. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, different kind of stay.

At Pension Jakura, I felt comfortable right away. The place is clean and cozy, with a homely feel, and the owner and his wife were warm and attentive whenever I needed help. They even disinfected my luggage. When we arrived, the owner took a welcome photo and printed it as a gift. A really memorable stay in Hakodate, and I’d highly recommend it.

After a cramped hotel in Tokyo, having room to relax and move around at Pension Jokura was such a relief. The elderly couple running the guesthouse were lovely and hospitable. Sato-san even drove us to the station, then gave us a thoughtful gift and a photo to remember our night. We’d happily come back.
