Hotel Promote Hakodate

The staff were polite and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is a little far from JR Station, but just one streetcar stop away. The rooms are small, as is average in Japan. Mine had a fridge, TV, kettle, hairdryer, and deodorant spray. You can get washcloths, bath salts, and other amenities for free at the counter, where there's also tea, coffee, and a microwave. There's a coin laundry on level 1. A pleasant stay.

The hotel is clean and centrally located, about a 10-minute walk from JR Hakodate station. My room was nice, with a comfortable Western-style bed, and breakfast had both Japanese and Western options. Free coffee and amenities are available in the lobby, along with a washer and dryer. Like many Japanese hotels, though, the lobby isn't really set up as a shared hangout space, with no couches to sit on or TV.

The room was expensive for how small it was, and there was barely space to open a suitcase. Reception wouldn't move me to a larger room. Wi-Fi was so bad I usually couldn't connect unless I went down to the lobby. Breakfast was okay, but cost an extra 500 yen. There was no air conditioning either.

The room was tiny, though very clean, and the staff were friendly. Hakodate station is about a 10-minute walk away, and the city tram stop is right beside the hotel. For what I paid, I was very satisfied.
