The views are beautiful, and we liked the old-fashioned retro look. The rooms were fine and retro too, though the place gave off a pretty odd feeling.

We had breakfast included, and it was the usual Japanese-style meal with natto, tofu, miso soup and similar dishes. As far as I could tell, there weren't other options. A row of restaurants next door makes dinner easy, and we liked the pizza place beside the hotel, though that's for another review. This is a budget business hotel beside the beach. The rooms are dated, but clean and reasonably well kept. Internet is free by Wi-Fi or ethernet. If you're choosing a room, I'd go for the ocean side for the view and less traffic noise. The windows are fairly well insulated, so the street noise wasn't too bad. I'm not sure how practical the location is without a car, but driving puts most key spots in Hakodate within reasonable reach, and parking is free.

All the rooms are smoking rooms, so be careful. A taxi from the nearest station to the hotel costs about 870 yen.

The parking is free and breakfast was good. The receptionist, though, was rather unfriendly and not very accommodating.
