8/10
A regular hotel with a dated building, so don’t expect a big luxury room. The room had been renovated inside, and the toilets were clean. Goryokaku is easy to reach, and parking is free. The beer vending machine charged normal prices. I wasn’t impressed with the restaurant or food.

There’s plenty of parking right beside the hotel, so staying here makes sense if you’re driving. Star park and Goryoku tower are both within walking distance. The front desk staff were kind and helped with the formalities. There’s also a chinesse restaurant next door for breakfast and other meals. I had a comfortable stay.

It’s a quiet, beautiful, and safe hotel. The laundry setup was the problem: there’s only one clothes-drying machine, so we had to wait all night to wash and dry our things.

The private bathroom and reasonable price were good, and there’s a convenience store right beside the hotel. It’s near goryokaku park, though I didn’t go there. The room was small, and there’s no breakfast for some guests. It’s far from the JR station, but still close to a tram stop.

The dinner was cold by the time we started eating, and although I booked for two, the amenities had only been set out for one. It wasn’t a good experience.
