Yunokawa Onsen KKR Hakodate

The staff were friendly and kind, and I had a pleasant stay. The hotel is in a quiet spot, with a hot spring bath and tasty food. It isn’t new, but everything was kept clean. I can see why KKR is popular, and the location and price for the quality are appealing. I’d use it again. A few things could be better. The lighting was dim throughout, which made the cleaning tools left in view stand out. The shower pressure in the large bath was weak enough that many women might find washing their hair difficult. Room service took 30 minutes longer than the reserved time. Even though my sliding doors were shut, the door was left open for a while, which bothered me. I also wish the food had been prepared in the order shown on the menu.

The water was clear and salty, and it warmed us up without cooling off quickly. The taps and showers had enough water pressure, and there was plenty of shampoo, body soap, and other supplies. The bath is roomy enough for two or three people. We booked the private bath by phone for November 30. It cost ¥3,000 for two people per hour, tax included. After paying at the front desk, we got the key and were shown to the bath. The changing room was small and the facilities a bit old, though everything was clean. The bath itself was too hot, so we had to add tap water to bring the temperature down, which really takes away from the natural hot spring water. The hotel is behind Hakodate Higashi Post Office, in a quiet area. The parking is spacious, and you can see the garden from the lobby. It wasn’t crowded, so it was peaceful. We didn’t use a guest room, so I can’t rate one. Next time, I’d like to come for a day trip and bathe.

The breakfast was carefully prepared and really delicious, so I’d recommend it. We stayed one night with breakfast, and the small hotel felt peaceful and comfortable. The building didn’t seem new, but it was thoroughly cleaned, with plenty of amenities like shampoo. The service was attentive, too. There was only one indoor hot spring bath, but it was clean and I was happy with it. Thank you to all the staff 🙏

We came just to bathe, and it was really nice. The family bath was hot! It was due to open at 2:00, but I got in around 1:45. It was 1,000 yen per person for an hour, and bath and face towels cost 300 yen. I could take my time and relax. I’d like to go again. The photo didn’t turn out well.
