We’ll always remember staying here on our honeymoon. The room was stunning, with great amenities and a hot spring bath, and the fridge had complimentary drinks and snacks. The views across Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji are breathtaking. Check-in is remote, and you do have to check out by 10, which was the one drawback.

The facilities are brand new, and check-in was very simple. You can easily walk to all the sites around Lake Ashi. From the room, the view over the lake and Mount Fuji is incredible, especially from the in-room onsen. It may be the best view in the region.

We didn’t stay overnight. This was our honeymoon, planned for a year, and the experience devastated it. They’re still holding our money, and I found the whole thing awful. The hotel advertises views, but a third of it has no view because of the trees. We paid the same price as guests who got level 5 views, yet rooms were “randomly” allocated. I believe that’s false advertising and a rip-off. Don’t stay here.

The views are phenomenal, and the fridge was stocked with snacks and drinks. There were plenty of towels and toiletries, plus a washing machine, and you can dry clothes in the sauna. The couch, though, had lots of stains. The room and location were great. The entrance is by the parking lot, or around the back closer to the lake. If you drive to Hakone, check-in and check-out are manageable since you can leave things in the car. There’s no early check-in, late check-out, or luggage pickup, which makes moving on to the next place tricky.
