We stayed three nights at Ryuguden Ryokan, and the place felt like a well-kept step back in time. The historic-looking furniture and interiors were beautiful and felt authentic, not staged. The staff were friendly and helpful, and their very good English made everything easy. Our room's huge 2x4 meter window looked out at Mount Fuji. Seeing that view each morning was unforgettable. The futons were high quality and comfortable, and we slept extremely well. Food was a highlight too. Breakfast and dinner each felt like an experience, not just a meal. Breakfast alone had around 17 items, all nicely presented and delicious, and we got to try their delicious sake collection. Finding the outdoor onsen was confusing at first. The route wasn't clearly marked, and the instructions felt like a lot to take in, with two different onsens, separate towel rules, one locker for slippers and another for everything else. Once we worked it out, though, it was absolutely worth it. The whole ryokan runs smoothly, with real attention to detail. If you're after a traditional onsen stay, great service and food, and an incredible Mount Fuji view, this place is special.

We had a good kaisen dinner and breakfast, and a nice massage during our stay. The ryokan has indoor and outdoor onsens, plus a great view of Lake Ashi from the room. The room was adequate for three, though the bathroom felt dated and had a low ceiling. The rate was reasonable. It's quite remote, with no attractions, shops, or restaurants within walking distance.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and able to speak English. They even brought my luggage into the room because it had arrived before I did. Ryuguden is in a quiet spot where you can walk along the lake, and there's a nearby minibus stop serving several places. A shuttle is also available if needed. The room had a great view of Lake Ashinoko and the mountains, with a chance of seeing Mt. Fuji on a clear day. It was a little dated, but had some modern touches. There was a smell in the room, though not as bad as other reviews made it sound; an air freshener for guests might help. Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend it.

I felt welcome from the moment I arrived, thanks to staff who were exceptionally kind and attentive. Ryuguden was beautifully maintained, with Mount Fuji and Lake Ashi visible from my room. The hot springs were so relaxing, and the carefully prepared Kaiseki meals were exquisite. It was a memorable, authentic ryokan stay, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious Japanese inn experience. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

There were six of us across two rooms, and everyone was very satisfied. I can't remember the room numbers, sorry. The onsen was great, the food was tasty, and the service was superb. I remember the receptionist from Taiwan, who spoke perfect English. Thank you.
