The meals were amazing, and the larger stone hot tub was just the right temperature. The Taki is a real gem. The owners made us feel like children coming home after thirty years abroad.

A hidden gem with an old-fashioned feel, and wonderful staff.

It’s really old, but clean, and the familiar feel of grandma’s house made me feel at ease. The room was spacious, and the food was delicious, though the onions were raw and spicy. The bath water was lovely too. There was a Wii and PlayStation, but their batteries were dead, and the massage machine was broken. I had chosen a room with an open-air bath, but the view was poor, and little bits of wood came loose from the tub when I stirred the water. That was unpleasant. The owner’s kind nature was soothing. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for an inexpensive, easy place to relax, but not if cleanliness is a big concern or you’re hoping to splurge.

I won’t be staying here again. The small of the two first-floor hot spring baths was smaller than a bathtub at home, so I didn’t feel like using it. The tub also seemed poorly cleaned, with a slimy feel and lots of black debris. The inn looks old-fashioned from outside, and inside the hallways creaked and everything felt extremely old. I could hear the first-floor guests clearly from my second-floor room, which was distracting. The futon was heavy and uncomfortable, like an old rice-cracker futon, so I took it off halfway through the night.

25.03 I was happy with the stay, though preferences will differ. The building is old but clean. I liked the bath depth, which came to just below my chin when seated, and I enjoyed both the number one and number two baths. The water was around 42 degrees Celsius, so it may feel cool if you prefer very hot baths. The shower pressure was weak. Bath time slots are supposed to be marked with a label for your room, but nobody had put one up, so you can go in whenever it’s free. I booked room only, so I can’t speak to the food. The two second-floor rooms with private toilets let you walk around in just your underwear. The massage chair was broken, and the toilet flush was weak.
