Alpine Wind Hakuba

We had such a good time skiing, and this place was a lovely base. It’s very quiet at night, has free parking at the B&B and ski resorts, and there’s a private spa (Onsen) you can book. Amazing! The breakfast was filling and great, starting at 7:30am. The owners, an Australian husband and Japanese wife, were really helpful. You can walk to the bus pickup for both Happo One and Hakuba47, and there’s a block of great restaurants on a local main street nearby. We drove, but going into town early to book a restaurant is a good idea, since most are small and fill up on weekends. We ended up at a small Australian pub, a pizza place, and had the best fish and chips. Loved our stay and hope to be back soon.

Ben was like a walking Google, only more helpful. We could count on him for advice on which mountains to ski, where to eat, and he even drove us to and from the bus terminal. Alpine winds felt homely and comfortable, and I’d highly recommend it to first timers in Hakuba. We’ll definitely be back!

Ben was such a kind, awesome host. The location by Echoland is fantastic, and I loved having an onsen I could reserve for private use.

Ben, the owner, went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and was very helpful. The onsen is on site, there are lots of great restaurants close by, and the slope shuttle bus is handy too.
