After a full day skiing, the two private onsens were just the thing for relaxing tired muscles. There’s also a big area by the entrance for drying wet clothes and storing gear, and the older couple who run the place know how to look after skiers and snowboarders. The other guests were incredibly friendly and respectful. I loved our three days at pension Roku. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, welcoming, and full of cozy character.

Pension Roku is convenient for skiers and boarders. Woodys rental and the Goryu shuttle bus are just a two-minute walk away, while Echoland and 7 eleven are a short walk from the guesthouse. The building is well maintained and spotless. The owners were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond for me. I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it.

It’s a warm, cozy place run by a couple, with only a few rooms. We were on the top floor. The floor heating kept me warm, and the bed and blankets were comfortable. They provide one pillow. Showers are downstairs and available at set times. It’s convenient to walk out for food.

I stayed two nights and it was so quiet and relaxing that it felt like I was the only guest, which was great. The public area is warm, there’s a nice collection of liquor, and the place reminded me of my grandmother’s house, with antiques and a piano in the corner. The owners were really friendly, and after checkout the older man even offered me a ride to the bus terminal. I enjoyed soaking in the hot bath after skiing, too. It’s available from 3 pm. The only thing missing was a heater in the bedroom.
