We’d stay at Hotel Hananosato again. It’s quiet and clean, and the staff were helpful. Our ground-floor room was basic but fine, and someone in our group enjoyed the roof top Onsen. There’s no elevator. Coin-operated laundry and drying machines are available. The location worked especially well for skiing. The ski lifts and Happo-One bus station were only a few easy minutes away on foot, even with skis and ski boots, and ski hire stores are close by. Restaurants and bars are just around the corner. The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast or other meals, though it has free coffee and tea facilities. Lawson’s is a few minutes down the road for picking up food.

Clean room, comfy bed, and great service made this a lovely base for our snowboarding trip in Hakuba. It’s right by the happo one bus terminal, so getting up to the mountain was easy. I’d happily stay here again.

For the price, Hotel Hana-no-sato is a good choice. The Japanese-style room was clean, though fairly small. It’s just one room, so you move the table aside and lay out the futons yourself. The location is good, but this isn’t a ski-in, ski-out hotel. It’s a 15-minute walk to Happo one gondola station, where you can also buy your lift pass.

The location is so handy, with the ski mountain an easy five-minute walk away. Breakfast and dinner were included in the rate and were nice. I’d definitely come back.

The bath felt a little grungy, and there’s no elevator. Still, the location alone makes this a four-star hotel in my view. It was decent.
