Hakuba Landmark Happo Lodge

Tracy helped us sort out ski hire and transport, and even introduced us to matcha. Paul was just as wonderful, sharing helpful local insights and going out of his way for us. We also really enjoyed the breakfasts. Thanks to both of them for making our stay so lovely.

Paul and Tracy made us feel so welcome. Paul even gave us a few rides, and they pointed us toward good dinner spots and helped with a reservation. Breakfast each day was lovely, and returning our gear through the Rhythym ski rentals partnership was simple: we dropped it at the hotel and scanned it in. The rooms were clean and spacious, with everything we needed. It's an easy walk to the lift and a shuttle stop, so it was a convenient base for our family ski trip. We really appreciated the hospitality and recommend staying here.

The room was surprisingly spacious by Japan standards, the breakfast each morning was a lovely bonus, and the lifts were right nearby. But what made our first family trip to Hakuba so special was Paul and Tracy's kindness. Paul went out of his way with restaurant suggestions and bookings, and helped us find an onsen. During a night of heavy snow, our 2WD got stuck on the bridge, and he came out from his warm home with whatever he could to help us get safely back to our warm rooms. We're so grateful for all that hospitality. We'd love to return.

For our first snow trip, Landmark was such a cosy place to stay. Paul and Tracey were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Happo-One lifts are about a 10-minute walk, Rhythm Ski Hire is five minutes away, and there are plenty of good cafes and restaurants close by. Even with all that nearby, the hotel feels quiet and tucked away. We loved it and will be back on our next Hakuba trip.
