After a day on the mountain, the peaceful, relaxing feel of Hotel Soyokaze was just right. My room was spotless and very comfortable, with a big bed, a bathroom that was just the right size, and everything I needed. Taka-san was a wonderful host, calm, kind, and truly welcoming from the moment I arrived. You can feel how much care and pride goes into the hotel, and I felt looked after rather than just accommodated. The place is immaculately kept and has a lovely atmosphere that reflects Japanese hospitality. I hope to return. I’d highly recommend Hotel Soyokaze to anyone visiting Hakuba who appreciates a quiet, comfortable stay and genuine hospitality. Thank you very much, Taka-san.

The private onsen was lovely, and you can tell the hosts put plenty of time and effort into making guests’ stays enjoyable. Taka was the highlight for us, so welcoming and helpful as we figured out how to get around Hakuba. It’s a cozy little cabin-in-the-woods kind of place, right on the main strip, so there were plenty of food options after a long day skiing.

Taka was amazing and gave us really helpful tips on where to ski, what to eat, and the best ways to get around Hakuba. Hotel Soyokaze is in a great location. The rooms are a little dated, but they’re spacious compared with many places in Japan. The laundry machines were reliable and cheap, ¥200 for each wash and dry. We also loved the private onsen. This place is a hidden gem in Hakuba, and you won’t regret staying here.

Taka was a fantastic host. He helped us throughout our stay with discounted lift passes and daily resort suggestions, and offered to pick us up and drop us at the bus terminal at the start and end of the trip. Taiko and his wife were always smiling and made the experience that much nicer. The location was unreal: food, bars, and restaurants right nearby, yet it stayed quiet. The free shuttle bus stops are a one-minute walk away. Our room was spacious, with comfortable pillows and great amenities. The private onsen was a highlight. Opening the windows onto the little courtyard covered in snow felt really special. I’ll recommend Hotel Soyokaze to anyone asking about Hakuba.
