We booked the wrong dates by accident, but the people at Penke Panke found room for us that very night and were so welcoming. They helped with anything we needed, and we’re incredibly thankful to the lodge and its wonderful staff, including someone I believe was named Billie. The rooms and facilities worked well for groups of any size, and the location is great, just a short walk to the Sakka slopes.

The staff at Penke Panke feel more like a community of snow lovers, and we’re already looking forward to coming back to this winter wonderland. We loved our stay. The room was large and well heated, and the living room had plenty of good coffee, chocolate, tea, hot water and instant noodles.

We spent a week here as a family and had a great stay. It’s a homely lodge with friendly staff, not far from the Sakka chair lift. Buses can take you to other parts of Hakuba too.

The games room is a favorite with our kids, while we adults love being so close to the great slopes and the bar. After three seasons at panke Penke/Panketo lodges, the kids now think of it as their winter holiday home. The location, cleanliness, value and staff’s willingness to help are all second to none. We really appreciate how friendly and capable the owners and managers are, and that they take time to share local advice. Hope we can keep coming back every year!

We had to change rooms during our stay, and there was a delay getting into the second one. Justin was helpful and did what he could to assist. The nightly shuttle buses gave us more options for food and shopping, since dining choices nearby are limited. The laundry, daily breakfast and dry room were all great amenities, and the lodge is very close to Sakka Lift. One confusing thing was figuring out who was staff when some were relaxing on the couches.
