Avoid this place. The booking system is unreliable, and communication was poor. I booked directly on their website, expecting things to go smoothly. I was staying back-to-back with a friend and asked if we could keep the same room to avoid moving our luggage. Staff said they’d email me, but I heard nothing for two days. I only got an answer after following up in person on check-in day. They then sent a confirmation, but only after I confronted them, which makes advance planning pointless. Even with a clear invoice, staff said their system showed a different number of days on entirely different dates. They blamed “system incompatibility,” which is no excuse for a direct booking through their own website. The owner was condescending and lectured us about using the front door from the dry room, despite there being no signs or instructions about how gear should flow. Working in hospitality? Do your job. Put up a sign and fix your system.

The host was responsive the whole time and even waited for us to arrive so they could show us around. Everything was spotless and nearly new. We loved having an open layout that brought the living room, dining area, and kitchen together. A wonderful place to stay, and we loved every moment.

Our young family of four loved having this house as a place to unwind from busy Tokyo life. We came for a long summer weekend and didn’t want to leave. Upstairs was bright, airy, and open, a lovely spot to relax. The Chalet felt clean, modern, and new, and the Manager was a really nice, super helpful guy with great local knowledge. My favorite experience in Hakuba was swimming in the crystal clear blue lake. We’ll be back and would definitely stay at White Fox Chalet again.

Leo was a huge help with our dinner reservations and any questions we had. We stayed at Hakuba White Fox for six days and found it really comfortable and stylish. The location made it easy to get to the slopes, groceries, and dinner. Thanks, we’ll come back! From Jay and friends. :)

We spent a lovely spring weekend here with my wife and our 2-year-old son. The place is new and huge, and one of the two units would have been plenty for two families, though we were glad to have the whole space to ourselves. We could walk to the station or drive a short distance, and there were great restaurants, parks, and other local attractions nearby. It was a lovely way to unwind from city stress, surrounded by mountains and the many streams running through Hakuba. Highly recommended!
