Ichirino Kogen Hotel Roan

After more than six hours of travel from Sapporo, having a hot onsen bath in the cold winter was wonderful. It was peaceful and unhurried, unlike some busier tourist spots. We also chose the onsen package with halal wagyu dinner and breakfast. The wagyu was tender, flavorful, and nicely prepared, and for the price and the hotel's out-of-the-way location, Roan took great care with our request. They clearly put thought into welcoming Muslim guests respectfully. Hakusan Ichirino Roan Hotel sits in a quiet mountain setting surrounded by nature, close to the ski resort, which has already made me think of it for my next ski trip. It has the warm, understated feel of a traditional Japanese ryokan and seems thoughtfully maintained. The staff were polite, attentive, and welcoming throughout, even with the language differences. Everything felt relaxed and sincere. The healing robot added a calming touch, and we were drawn to how cute it was. For anyone wanting a quiet, authentic Japanese onsen stay and appreciating the effort made with halal meals, this place is well worth visiting. It balances tradition, comfort, and considerate hospitality really well.

The food was authentic and great, and the private onsen is free if you book a time at reception. The hotel is right next to the ski field, in a very local area, so there aren't lift lines. The location is great.

You get lovely views, good food, skiing, and a cozy onsen here, all the things you want in winter. The service was nice, and both English and Chinese work. The hotel is right in front of the ski field, so it's almost ski-in, ski-out. For the price, it feels worthwhile.
