The Atta Terrace Club Towers

We had a golf holiday, and the location right by a nice golf course worked perfectly for us. It’s a quiet, private resort with only a few rooms and not many other people around. The rooms are a little dated, but exceptionally clean and very well looked after. We’d definitely come back.

The Terrace hotels took great care of us, and we had a wonderful stay. The pool and beach club at The Atta Terrace Club Towers were closed until April 1st when we arrived. We spoke with Arakaki, who works there, and he arranged for us to move to the sister property, Busena Terrace, where the indoor pool and beach activities were open. He even drove us over himself. We’re big fans of the Terrace hotels, and Arakaki was fantastic. We’d trust them with our stay again next time we’re here.

The staff really made the stay special. The concierge took care of all our reservations, including restaurants outside the hotel, then coordinated everything with the team so we didn’t even have to tell the taxi where to take us. We also loved the Library Lounge & Bar, the Spa, the garden, and the views. It has what you need for a luxurious, relaxing visit, and nothing extra.

It’s tucked away from the rest of the island and very quiet, a good place to step out of busy daily life. There’s an age restriction, so no kids running around making noise. The service has that familiar Japanese professionalism, with everyone being extremely polite. Staff go out of their way to make you comfortable, though they stick firmly to rules, even when some feel odd. The French, Italian, and teppanyaki restaurants are upscale and have a dress code, and you need a reservation. If their available time doesn’t work for you, you’re out of luck there. Staff will still help find somewhere else, make a booking, and arrange transport if needed. When you get back, the general manager waits at the front door with your keys and belongings, and the concierge checks in at your room to see if everything went well. They put on several free activities, often with a cultural learning aspect, plus tea time, cocktail hour, and other fancy breaks with well-made drinks and light food. The evenings can feel romantic, with live performances and lights. You can see why they keep kids off the property. A lot of the guests seem to be over 50, many visiting for golf at the neighboring private course. WiFi is only available in certain parts of the property, which could be nice if you want to disconnect. There are a few strange design problems too. The bathtub sits in the middle of a huge bathroom with no drain, and the separate shower isn’t sealed properly, so it’s easy to leave a big puddle after bathing. They offer international TV channels, but the TV has mono sound, so English channels play English and Japanese audio at the same time. These are small things, but annoying. It’s a cozy place to relax, though I took off a star for those silly, frustrating mistakes.
